A program to download and burn the iso of ubuntu

Registered by mike.simonson

0-We suppose we are on windows vista or xp and we want to install ubuntu.

To prevent problems with New ubuntu users familiar with windows , it would help to create a small program able to:

1-Detect which kind of iso is needed (i386 or x64) or let the user decide if he wants to install ubuntu on another computer.
2-Download the iso with the help of the metalink (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MetalinkIsoDownloads) for example. But the program could also be a small p2p client for downloading the iso. And ideally the program could be both and the choice of downloading mode could be left to the user.
3-Check the md5 after the download is completed (with the md5sum in the metalink) and possibly repair any damaged part from the downloaded iso.
4-Detect the cd burner and propose to the user to insert a cd and burn the iso on the cd.
5-At least the download process should run as a background task.
