Voice recognition and command in Ubuntu

Registered by Pierre Slamich

This blueprint has been superseded. See the newer blueprint "speech recognition roadmap" for updated plans.

Windows Vista will include voice recognition. Therefore, you'll be able to command it by voice and save time by dictating your texts.
This is potentially an advantage Windows will have over Linux. It is a very heavy process, but we should look into it. Perhaps IBM could help a bit on this as they are involved in Linux?

Whiteboard

2006-11-03 kamion: There isn't much to choose between this and the speech-recognition specification, but they're clearly the same thing; speech-recognition was registered first, so I'll mark this one superseded by that.
