Texmaker In Main

Registered by Joseph Smidt

Many Linux users use Tex/LaTeX. Many users would like a nice GUI. Unfortunately there are no GUI Latex Editors supported in main except auctex which is geared toward Emacs users. If you use vi, nano, gedit, etc... then you are not left with a supported GUI Latex editor. Texmaker is a modern GUI Latex Editor which is highly configurable and does not desktop specific like KILE which requires KDE. I will help with the packaging.

Whiteboard

2006-11-03 kamion: texmaker is already in universe, so this probably doesn't need significant packaging effort; I suggest having a look at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuMainInclusionRequirements, which will involve making a case for main inclusion (i.e. support by Canonical and the core development team) on <email address hidden>.

2006-11-03 jsmidt: At the above request I altered https://wiki.ubuntu.com/TexmakerInMain to address the issues from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuMainInclusionRequirements. I am now sending an email to <email address hidden>. Hopefully this is what is needed.
