Easy way to place a link of a shared folder on the desktop
If a user wants to create a path to a shared folder, it's a non-easy operation.
The easiest way to do this on nautilus is to right-click the shared folder them choose "Connect to this server". Then, an path will be placed on desktop.
I would suggest to "unhide" this from the user. Maybe changing the default drag-drop operation to create a path instead of copying the files, maybe by having a name other than "Connect to this server". In my mind, "connect to this server" has absolutely no relation to what is executed - to place a path to the network folder on the desktop.
So, my suggestions are :
1.Modify the shared folder drag-and-drop action from copy/paste files to ask if user wants to copy/paste the files or create a path.
2.Change the "Connect to this server" to something like "Create a local path" - them ask the user(checkbox) if he wants a path on desktop and/or if we wants a path on "places" Nautilus menu.
